Many of the fastest growing economies in the world are in Africa, driven by booming export markets. Africa's domestic economies have lagged behind because they have been a low commercial priority for most non-African organizations. In many cases this is due to lack of awareness of the opportunities. A lack of contacts and local knowledge hold many companies from taking advantage of the opportunities that are available. This is particularly true for small-to-medium-size businesses.
Developed Africa will help to address Africa’s problems by providing a vehicle to properly commercialize development opportunities in Africa. This will be accomplished by consolidating the efforts of organisations and individuals to accelerate development in Africa, provide a better link between African development needs and the solutions to those needs, and by generating commercial and employment opportunities, using social networks to engage and motivate the African diaspora in realising these aims.
